Mawa Modak
Mawa Modak are made from milk solid based recipe which is made generally during the festival season of Ganesh Chaturthi and served as offerings to Lord Ganesha.

1 1/2 cups mawa grated (khoya) 5 tbsp. powdered sugar 1 1/2 tbsp. pistachios chopped 1/4 tsp. cardamom powder strands of saffron 1 tbsp. lukewarm milk
Combine the saffron and milk in a small bowl, mix well and keep aside.
Put the Mawa in a deep non-stick pan, cook on a medium flame for 3 to 4 minutes, while stirring continuously.
Add the saffron-milk mixture and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes.
Spread in a deep plate and keep aside to cool for 10 to 15 minutes.
Crumble the Mawa with your fingers, add powdered sugar, cardamom powder and pistachios. Mix well and keep it in the fridge for 10 minutes.
Take a portion of the mawa mixture, keep it on one side of the greased modak mold and close the modak mold tightly.
Remove the excess modak mixture from the sides of the modak mold and remove the modak from the mould.
Make the remaining modaks. Serve the mawa modak immediately or use as required.
