Anjeer Ki Barfi

Anjeer ki barfi is an excellent sweet as it is healthy, sugar free and easy to make . Dry fruit like almonds, pistachio, walnuts, cashew and pecan can be added according to your choice.

To make puree of dried figs, it is necessary to soak it in warm water to make a soft and smooth paste. Soak it in warm water for about 15-20 minutes. Filter them and when they become soft, put them in the grinder and make puree. Add water to the required consistency and use as per your preference.

Dried figs are very beneficial for our health. Figs are rich in vitamin A, vitamin B, protein, fiber as well as antioxidants. We all should eat healthy food, but it is considered very good to consume healthy food in the morning. In such a situation, figs can be consumed in the morning on an empty stomach. Dried figs taste yummier than the fresh fruit and are very nutritious as they contain vitamins A, B, and minerals like phosphorus, calcium, iron and manganese. Dried figs are said to contain omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids along with phenol, which are useful in preventing coronary heart diseases. Eating figs is said to be an effective cure for treating sore throat because of their high mucilage content.

Ingredients
  

  • 200 grams figs Dried anjeer
  • 25 pieces Dates / Khajoor
  • 100 grams cashew
  • 100 grams almonds
  • 15-20 pieces pistachio
  • 50 grams sesame
  • 1 ½ teaspoon Butter / Desi Ghee
  • teaspoon Cardamom Powder / Elaichi Powder

Instructions
 

  • Chop Figs into small pieces.
  • Deseed dates and chop into small pieces and keep aside
  • Soak figs in ½ cup of warm milk and keep aside (optional)
  • Chop almonds and pistachio into medium size pieces and then dry roast in a pan for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add ghee in a non stick pan and let it melt.
  • Now add soaked figs and chopped dates in it and mix well.
  • Keep mixing and mashing the mixture on low heat till it become a sticky dough.
  • Add chopped nuts and cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Spread it on a greased plate and level it evenly.
  • Leave for 15 minutes and then slice to make pieces.
